Collective Power: Multiple Institutions Acquire Unique Primary Source Collections via Big Ten Academic Alliance

Adam Matthew and the Big Ten Academic Alliance continue their highly valued partnership with a new agreement to provide access to award-winning primary source material for teaching and research.

Incorporating many of the leading academic institutions in the United States, the agreement enables unparalleled access to a vast array of rare and unique material. The program grants institutions complete autonomy to select collections of their choice from the full Adam Matthew portfolio, whilst benefiting from the massive combined purchasing power of the larger consortium.

“We are delighted that the Big Ten Academic Alliance and Adam Matthew could achieve this agreement on behalf of our member libraries,” said Kimberly Armstrong, Director of Library Initiatives at the Big Ten Academic Alliance. “The strength of content offered by Adam Matthew makes the program of high value to our consortium.”

Ben Cartwright, Head of North American Sales for Adam Matthew added: “This unique agreement, which both recognizes the buying power of the consortium whilst maintaining independent title selection by each library, secures a huge range of our new content for a vast user group of scholars and students, making a real impact on humanities teaching and research in the U.S. We are thrilled to continue our close relationship with the prestigious Big Ten consortium, and the excellent libraries it represents.”
